Pecos Valley Pecans and the pecan processing business that has become so vital to CARC started in 1993 with the donation of equipment and a trademark from Jon Pack, the previous owner of Pecos Valley Pecans. In short order, the Pecos Valley Pecans trademark and equipment moved to CARC and greatly enhanced the job opportunities for clients.
Pecos Valley Pecans processes pecans from the CARC orchards as well as for the community on the “Half-Shell” agreement. Individuals may bring in pecans to be processed free of charge. In exchange for the service, CARC retains one-half of the processed pecans for resale. In addition to processed pecans, customers can also purchase pecan shells for mulch, landscaping and other uses.
